MLK Community Pool & Community Center was named in honor of the late civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. This wonderfully well-maintained pool is FREE for use by all visitors to Key West and residents. Cool off or swim laps as you take in the gorgeous ocean views. The park is located at the intersection of Thomas and Catherine Streets. There is ample streetside parking on both streets. Get off the beaten path and enjoy Key West like a local. The pool is open from 9-7 Monday through Thursday and 10-6pm Friday to Sunday.
Biscayne National Park is located south of the city of Miami and borders John Pennekamp State Park, Key Largo, and the Key Largo National Marine Sanctuary. The park was formed in 1980 after being expanded from a National Monument (1968) into a much larger National Park. It's goal is to preserve the natural habitats and wildlife of Biscayne Bay, its offshore barrier reefs, and the upper keys (Boca Chita Key, Elliott Key, Adams Key and more).
Milander Park in Hialeah is a 19+ acre park that consists of an aquatic center, football stadium, sports fields and a new venue. The park, in addition to these big amenities, also provides recreation for multiple kinds of sporting activities. Lighted sports fields help make this park an active destination even into the evening hours. Milander has two lighted tennis courts, two lighted basketball courts, a lit softball field, and a lit baseball diamond. The park also has a junior basketball court that is not lighted.
Morgan Levy Park is located near the world renowned Trump National Golf Course in Doral just west of the Palmetto Expressway. This beautiful park has a modern community center faciliity which may be reserved as a venue for special private events like birthdays, weddings, sweet 16 or quinceaneras. This multi-use recreation center has about 5,000 square feet of venue space. If you prefer the fresh air for your event, you may also rent one of 5 pavilions within the park grounds.
Homestead Air Reserve Park is located just north of the military base in Homestead. The park consists of a very large open grassy area, a shelter, and building. The large field can be used for soccer, events, and for campouts.
Tropical Park is an almost 300-acre park in southwest Miami-Dade county that once served as a horse track. It was transformed into a county park back in 1979. This huge, diverse park offers everything from football games, world class equestrian shows, community center, a boxing program to the unique Santa's Enchanted Forest carnival. Tropical Park has the standard leisure amenities like bicycling, walking or running on the miles of paved pathways. You can also take out a paddle boat and explore the boating lake.
Long ago, the area covered by the over 164 acres of the Long Key Natural Area was inhabited by an ancient tribe of Native Americans called the Tequesta. It was later home to the Seminole Indians. Operated by Broward County in the area of Davie, this nature center is home to a wonderful exhibit hall, interactive classroom, banquet hall, theater and trails. Long Key is open from 9am to 5 pm daily.
Community Park Wellington, located at South Shore Boulevard just after Pierson Road, offers relaxation and fun to both the old and the young in the family.
Phipps Skate Park in West Palm Beach features about 23,000 square feet of a concrete base surface with metal ramps and decks made with Skate-Lite Pro skating surface. Helmets with a functioning strap are mandatory (rentals available) and a waiver must be on file for all park users. Waivers must be signed by a skater’s parent or legal guardian if under the age of 18. Phipps Skate Park is located just south of Southern Blvd on the west side of Dixie Highway.
