Lake Worth Playhouse is considered South Florida's Premiere Community Theatre and is located in the heart of Palm Beach County - the cultural capital of America. This beautiful, historical theatre has been open for 62 years and is located in one of the oldest buildings on the register of the Art Deco Society of Palm Beach County.
The Playhouse is a non profit community theatre with year round programming. They have so much to offer! They offer dramas, films, comedies, musicals, area premieres, Broadway favorites, children's shows, international ballets, operas, live concert series and more:
Children's Productions: The Lake Worth Playhouse cares about teaching children about the theatre arts and they offer a wide variety of family and children's shows. They incorporate literature, music, theatre, character education and audience participation. They also offer group performances and field trips.
Films: In addition to the main stage theatre, there is a quaint little theatre next door called the Stonzek Theatre that is also ran by the Playhouse. They show independent and foreign films daily in an intimate setting.
Classes: There are many classes available to take. There are various levels of acting classes, dance classes and even yoga classes. They also offer summer a three week long and one week long summer camp where no experience is necessary. The campers will engage in studio-style rehearsals for music and dance productions. Older campers will learn how to paricipate behind the scenes and learn about all of the different theatre roles.
