Body

Deerwood Bonita Lakes Park is a nice 11 acre park in Miami Dade County with a lot of great sports amenities for the whole family. This park really embraces the community that surrounds it, which makes it a sweet and safe neighborhood park. This park used to be called Deerwood Park and was renamed for the neighboring community of Deerwood Bonita Lakes.  It is near FL 826 and just north of Zoo Miami and the Larry & Penny Thompson Park.

This park offers quite a few programs and free classes. They participate in youth baseball and youth soccer sports leagues. They also participate in the Active Adult Program. This program encourages older adults to improve their health and well being by being encouraged to stay active and physically fit. Miami Dade County Parks and Recs works alongside the Health Foundation of South Florida to present health and wellness fairs for the adult community once a month. Another great part of the Active Adult Program are the free Enhance Fitness Classes for ages 55 +. These fitness classes are offered three times a week.
