Earth Day Delray Beach

Earth Day Celebration will held on April 22 from 9:30 am-12pm at Old School Square Park, 95 NE 1st Avenue.

Attendees can look forward to fun, educational and interactive activities related to recycling, renewable energy, gardening and green technology.

“Earth Day provides us with an opportunity to acknowledge our personal and communal responsibility to protect and restore the natural environment,” says City of Delray Beach Sustainability Officer, Dr. Ana Puszkin-Chevlin. “I encourage all citizens to join us to learn more about services and products that can help their family live healthier and sustainably, while saving money and conserving natural resources.”

This year, more than 20 businesses and organizations will participate in the celebration including: Tesla Motors, Smart Center/Mercedes Benz of Palm Beach, ChargePoint, Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar, One Aveda Salons, JuiceBuzz, Sea to Shore,  Community Greening, Urban Solar Group, Ygrene Energy Fund, Florida Power and Light, Waste Management, and several non-profit and governmental organizations.

Afterwards, guests can relax, eat and shop locally grown produce, flowers and gourmet fare at the adjacent Delray Beach GreenMarket.

This is a free event with something for everyone in the family to enjoy. There will be fun, green-themed activities that will inform attendees of the City's continuing efforts to be "green and thriving" include plantings, a ladybug release, chalk art, face painting, a hybrid car display, raffle drawings and more.
