Camp Owaissa Bauer

The Camp Owaissa Bauer is considered one of the hidden treasures of Miami-Dade Country Parks & Recreation. A nice getaway from the hectic city life, this campsite is located in Homestead, Florida, United States. The park itself is built on a 110 acre area and contains plenty of trails that teach both children and adults interesting facts about the ecology/geology of The Sunshine State. It's equipped with vast facilities to house up to 160 campers overnight or for prolonged periods of time.

Larry & Penny Thompson Park

The Larry & Penny Thompson Park is a first class campground in Miami-Dade County. This beautiful campground is right next door to the Zoo Miami. The park is named after the late Thompsons who were avid campers and civic leaders in in South Florida. This campground is one of the last portions of leftover wilderness in Miami! The University of Miami used to own this land and there are remnants left of their old fruit groves.

Highland Oaks Park

The Highland Oaks Park in the northern Miami-Dade County houses one of the last remaining freshwater wetlands located at the headwaters of the renowned Oleta River. It is the only natural river remaining in the Miami-Dade County. The Highland Oaks Park is a huge park with a number of open fields. It is a favorite place for the athletes. The park also has boardwalks that are accessible by all, a fishing dock and trails. The most popular trails include the Black Oak Barren Trail & Spring Lake Trail.

Veterans Park in Royal Palm Beach has many times been referred to as a 'hidden paradise'. The park cover almost 6 acres and was incorporated in 1959. This great facility has over the years gained a lot of popularity due to its great amenities that have fun activities for the whole family. There is something for the grown ups and the kids. The kids can enjoy the tot lot and the open area while the adults take in a game of Bocce.



Bobbie Jo Lauter Park

It’s a great place to spend time with your kids by engaging in fun activities.

H.L. Johnson Park

H.L. Johnson Park in Royal Palm Beach is in a quiet residential area adjacent to the H.L. Johnson Elementary school campus.  The park features wonderful ways to enjoy nature.  This 8 acre park has more than enough space to get in some family frolic time amongst the trees.  The nature trail allows you to forget for a moment that you are in the middle of town and take in the beautiful native flora and fauna of South Florida. Talk about a place to get in shape and get active! There are so many things you can do here. With five whole soccer fields, your kids and you could run laps, practice some foot work, or even play a friendly match, kids against adults of course!

Lake Catherine Sports Complex

Vista View Park is a gorgeous park located in the Town of Davie in Broward County. This park has 272 acres of rolling hills and meadows. The park was created with nature in mind. Landscapers created three native habitats to the park: Dry prairie, mesic flatwoods, and hammock using plants native to the area. The hope is that more animals will make this park their natural habitat. This park is a popular location for outdoor enthusiasts and families who love to try different activities.
