Chapman Field Park

Body

Chapman Field Park is widely recognized as the field that was used by the army during World War I. The origin of the park is quite an interesting history, but what it has to offer is much more than the history itself. The 483-acre urban park is located in Miami, Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The largest part of the area still remains as mangrove swamps while the rest is the Park.

The parking lot is quite large and can accommodate a large number of cars. Parking security is vital in public places and Chapman Field Park's parking security does not disappoint. The park itself is also well secured, although parents are always advised to take note of their kids whereabouts.

Other amenities include 3 Lighted Baseball Fields where Howard Palmetto Baseball/Softball Association together with Howard Palmetto Khoury League play the matches. The facility can hold a large number of spectators especially during matches.

Early last year, it was announced that Chapman Field Park would now be a dog-friendly park. This was a big surprise to residents who enjoy taking walks or enjoying outdoor activities with their pet dogs. For the sake of convenience, safety, and hygiene, the park has "dog-bag" dispensers and trash cans around the designated area.

That's not all there is in this amazing park. Apart from being surrounded by a large mangrove forest, the park has a canoe launch and a kayak ramp. Those who love kayaking/canoeing can find great relaxation while exploring the waters. It's also a great way to test or improve one's skills as well as chasing qualifications while still having plenty of fun.

The parks offers more than just fun. There are out-of-school, training, art and cultural programs as well as sports development programs. It's a great place for kids, adults, and pet dogs to have plenty of fun. It's definitely one of the best places in Miami to relax after a week-long fatigue and stress from work. Simply, its the best getaway for the whole family.

***The fields were closed for arsenic testing.  Please check ahead with the park before you go that it has been cleared for play!***
