The 505 Teen Center and Hobbit Skate Park in Delray Beach was originally built in the 1950s to house the Women's Club (which still meets at the facility). It is now a wonderful place for Teens and Tweens to get together and have fun. Aside from the fun skate park, there is a recreation center that has foosball, table tennis, billiards, a recording studio, and much more.

Merritt Park has two lighted softball fields, 2 half-court basketball courts, playground, baseball field, and newly renovated restrooms. Reservations for athletic fields can be made by calling Tom Kwiatek at (561) 243-7255.  This Delray Beach park is open from 8 am to dusk daily.   The park is located just south of Atlantic Avenue and can be accessed from Swinton Blvd.

The Rosemary Scrub Area is just north of Gateway Blvd on the west side of Seacrest in Boynton Beach. This passive recreation area is great for bird watching, photography and educational purposes. This scrub area is open from sunrise to sunset. Rosemary Scrub is one of the few remaining examples of the Florida Scrub Ecosystem left in Palm Beach County. The site contains sand pine scrub, scrubby pine flatwoods and mesic hammock communities.

This park is just south of the city of Boynton Beach's Intracoastal Park right off Federal Highway. It was recently renamed and was known as the Boat Club Park.  Oyer Park is open to boaters and fishermen 24 hours per day.  Parking Fees: A trailer/launching fee is required on weekends and city designated holidays is $10 each day, regardless of residency. Decal Fees: The general public can purchase a decal per trailer for $50 per year per decal. Decals are valid Oct. 1 – Sept. 30 (per Code of Ordinances Sec. 16-61).

Atlantic Dunes Park in Delray Beach is one of just a few public shorelines in town. Located well enough south of the busy Atlantic Avenue area of town, Atlantic Dunes tends to be a much quieter spot for sunbathing and enjoying the surf.  Parking for the beach is located on the west side of A1A and is metered. Across the street, a boardwalk takes you up past showers and restrooms to picnic areas and a pavilion.  The beach is guarded and also has "surf chairs" available for handicapped patrons who need access to the beach.

Robert P. Miller Park in Delray Beach is comprised of six lighted little league fields, one soccer field, one multipurpose field, three concession stands, three press boxes, restrooms, pavilion and a playground area. It is the home of "Little Fenway" a replica of Fenway Park and it's "Green Monster" in Boston, Massachusetts. Miller Park is also the headquarters of the Bucky Dent Baseball School. This scrub area is just south of the Bethesda Hospital and the Seacrest/Woolbright intersection in Boynton Beach. It spans the area between Seacrest and Dixie across from St. Joseph's private school. This Palm Beach County controlled area has NO restrooms but ample parking.  Be sure to bring plenty of drinking water as there are no water fountains at this site.  Bike racks are available.  The train tracks are nearby and occaisionally a passing train can be heard in the background.

Mangrove Park is located to the east of to St. Mark's Catholic Church and school (off Federal Highway north of Boynton Beach Blvd) in a mangrove hammock area adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterway. The park is connected by at least three tidal inlets along the western border. It is a great place to see a variety of animals, including birds, raccoons and manatees. In 1997, the aluminum boardwalk, six interpretative panels, lighted restrooms, lighted parking lot, gates and landscaping were installed.

This odd BRAND NEW park is a sign of our economic times. The City of Delray Beach purchased the property and started clearing it during the "boom" times. Now that the money has run out, the only thing on property is the handicap accessible SHADED playground equipment. The grand plan involves building a large recreation center to serve western Delray residents but construction is on hold indefinitely. So, you have a children's playground right next to the pre-existing Senior Center. Incongruous but a new playground none-the-less.

City Park in Palm Beach Gardens is located at the end of the road and across from the tennis center.  This municipal park has tons of space for Raquetball, basketball and tennis. There is a short nature trail thru the forest area but, otherwise, not much shade at this park. The park contains a picnic pavilion, restrooms, small playground, basketball courts, handball courts,  two hard surface tennis courts, bicycle path, exercise trail and a  0.25 mile nature trail.
