West Palm Beach Golf Course

Body

West Palm Beach Golf Course is located just east of I-95 in southern West Palm Beach.  In 2009 the course was restored by 10 time PGA Tour Champion Mark McCumber. The course features an 18-hole, par 71 championship Dick Wilson original designed course reaching 7002 yards and having five sets of tees.  Tee times can be reserved online and by phone.  Private lessons and clinics are available to either learn golf or improve your game.  The course has it's own restaurant for repose after the game.

Northwest Park and Ball Fields

Northwest Park and Ball Fields are located in northwest Lake Worth just south of the West Palm Beach Golf Course.  The park consists of 5 different types of ball fields:  Lassie, Pony, Colt, Pinto and T-ball.  The use of the fields and scheduling are under the purview of Lake Worth Youth League, Lake Worth Girls Softball League, and Lake Worth High School.  

Sunset Ridge Park

Sunset Ridge Park in downtown Lake Worth is located in a residential area north of 10th Avenue between US 1 and I-95.  The park has ample parking on the northwest and southwest sides of the park accessed by North A and 15th Avenue.   There are five lighted tennis courts, with one in partial shade.  Playground equipment is also occaisionally in shade and children can run free or pick up a soccer game in the large multipurpose field.  Basketball courts are located in the center of the park near the tennis courts.

Lake Worth Casino Building and Beach Complex

The Lake Worth "Casino" has no gambling but is named after a historic casino that was on that location in the 1920s.  The name pays homage to Lake Worth history.  The newly renovated Lake Worth beachfront features a new playground with walking paths, a refurbished pier, restaurants, pavillions and a municipal pool.  Restrooms and multiple showers make finding facilities easy.  Kilwins chocolates, a pizza place and 2 locally popular restaurants (Benny's on the Beach & Mulligans) are all within walking distance.

Starfish Enterprise

Captain Craig and his crew on Starfish Enterprise offer dives to various sites in Lantana, Boynton Beach and Delray Beach.  Certified divers can reserve a charter to visit wrecks and reefs just 30 minutes out from the dock.  If you feel more comfortable with a dive guide, Starfish staff may be able to arrange one for you.  Equipment is available for rent.

Underwater Explorers

Underwater Explorers in Boynton Beach offers chartered scuba and snorkelling trips as well as scuba instruction.  They offer instruction from beginner to Advanced Open Water Certification.  If you are new to diving they give a introductory level course in shallow waist-deep water followed by a simple dive.  The boat features a hot shower, shaded areas and restrooms.  A light snack and drinks are served with the charter.  Each adventure is limited to very small groups for a more enjoyable and flexible experience.

AMF Boynton Beach Lanes

AMF Boynton Beach Lanes is located just east of Congress on Boynton Beach Boulevard.  The only entrance runs next to the busy Dunkin Donuts and is accessed from Boynton Beach Blvd.  The Lanes are host to private events like birthday parties and to local bowling leagues.  There is an arcade and a concessions food area on premises as well as a bar.  The Lanes are open daily from 9am and until 1 am Friday/Saturday.   Bowling shoes can be rented, wear socks.

Chuck E. Cheese Boca Raton

Cheese is an indoor gaming facility for children located in western Boca Raton.  The location hosts birthday parties and also walk-in clientele.  Games for toddlers up to pre-teen are available for play.  The mouse mascot Chuck E. will make appearances and shake hands with the children.  Each game takes one token which is about $ .25 each.  There are tickets given which can be redeemed for small prizes.  Chuck E. Cheese serves pizza, sandwiches, salad, wings, fountain drinks and beer.

Green Cay Wetlands

 Green Cay Wetlands in western Boynton Beach is the perfect spot to view Florida native plants and animals.  It is a photogrpahers dream and they come in droves to photograph some spectacular scenes.  The boardwalk takes you from the nature center in a couple of different length loops.  There are pavillions for seating and shade as well as a few canopy walks that are covered.  The only restrooms and drinking fountains are at the nature center so be sure to take advantage of them before heading out, especially with little ones.
