In an effort to bring attention to local parks and to encourage families to play outdoors together, the Play Outdoors…Unplugged series has been planned by the City of Boynton Beach Recreation and Parks Department. The average American kid practically lives plugged in. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of opportunities for families to engage in both structured and unstructured play. And the second Saturday of May is the time for play in Boynton Beach.
The Recreation and Parks Department is presenting Let’s Get Physical, a very special event that gets the whole family outside, playing together. Let’s Get Physical will be held on Saturday, May 9 at the City of Boynton Beach’s, Barrier Free Park, located at 3111 S. Congress Avenue, from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Activities will include family friendly games like the three legged race, tug of war, softball throw, interactive yoga and karate, and Dr. Seuss stories and exercises to music. Meet Officer Rita and learn about stranger danger. Snacks and water will be provided.
Let’s Get Physical will be held rain or shine. Parking is free.
The monthly unplugged adventures are just what the doctor ordered! Children like to play. And why wouldn’t they? It’s fun! Add the third Saturday of the month to your calendars now and stay tuned for event details. Celebrate the outdoors at your Boynton Beach parks…marvelous places for families to play together…unplugged!
