The Annual Waterway Cleanup, organized by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida and Marine Industry Cares Foundation, is Broward county’s largest and longest-running environmental event. In 2014, nearly 1,700 volunteers of all ages by land and 70 boats worked at 30 locations across the county to remove 17.9 tons of trash and debris from our waterways, rivers and canals. You do not need a boat to participate! There are several sites across the county that need volunteers. This is a great way to help kids feel party of the community and perform service.
