The Miami Museum of Science and Planetarium was one of the first museums in Miami, founded in 1949. It has now become the Patricia and Philip Frost Museum of Science. This one of a kind museum is located in Miami Dade county and will be located (after summer 2016) at the newly created Museum Park on the Bay in downtown Miami.
Off The Wall Trampoline Center is an indoor play area located in the town of Coconut Creek. This Broward County attraction feautures exhilarating trampoline courts, laser tag, a playground, rock climbing wall, sports activities, exercise, arcade games, and toddler playground. Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park in Pompano Beach is located in northeast Broward County. Bring the kids for a bouncing good time to burn off all of that endless energy. Kabooms Amusement and Party Center located in western Broward county in the city of Davie offers entertainment for kids and adults. This indoor amusement facility features bounce houses, laser tag, a new arcade and roller skating. Online specials and packages for activities and tokens can usually be found on their website. Kid-friendly food choices are available for purchase as well as adult-friendly fizzy beverages.
Boondooks Bar & Grille in Ramrod Key also has the southernmost miniature golf course in the United States and the only miniature golf course in the Florida Keys. They offer daily food and drink specials and events like Bingo and Trivia as well as live entertainment--blues, rock, soul, reggae and more! Boondocks can arrange special party packages and mini golf tournaments. There is never a cover charge for the entertainment. Boondock's menu includes flatbread pizza, bang bang shrimp, tacos and lots of local favorites.
Fort Lauderdale Swap Shop & Thunderbird Drive In has been a can't miss attraction in Fort Lauderdale since the early 1960s. The Swap Shop is located conveniently between I-95 and the Florida Turnpike right on a main road where it's ferris wheel and large sign can be seen. This 88 acres complex of shopping and entertainment is open 7 days a week 365 days a year. It operates one of the largest drive-in movie theaters in the world with 14 screens.
Hot outside or kids are looking for something new to do? Put your socks on and head over to the Funderdome in Fort Lauderdale. Parents are allowed to come along for free and children from toddler age and up can enjoy an active time in the cool a.c. The Toddler Zone is a brightly colored cushioned play land filled with vehicles, shapes and puzzles. It is specially designed to be safe for the littlest ones so no big kids are allowed. Parents need to be supervising just in case little ones need assistance.
Fort Lauderdale's Museum of Discovery and Science is located in the heart of downtown off Las Olas and close to the picturesque Riverwalk area. When you come to MODS you can easily plan to spend the entire day. Parking for this attraction can be found on the surrounding streets' metered spots or at the adjacent parking garage.
Fun Depot is located in Lake Worth off I-95 and 10th Avenue North on the south side of the road. This child-centered attraction boasts batting cages, an arcade, laser tag and go carts. The second floor of Fun Depot features "The Mezz" which is an area for multiplayer video gaming. An obstacle course for children 6 and under is onsite for those too small to run with the big kids. The Cafe features the usual kid-friendly fare of pizza, snacks, and ice cream. Salads are available for the adults or health-conscious kids.
Palm Beach Skate Zone is South Florida's only Ice and Inline (or Roller) Skating Center. This skating facility features a full size climate controlled rink, arcade, snack bar, full pro shop, and plays host to several skating groups. Public skating sessions are offered 4 days a week during the school year, 7 days a week during summer, and most holidays. Birthday parties and other private events may be reserved.
