A.D. Barnes Park

Body

If you are looking for a beautiful and lush green park full of amazing attractions for you and the family, then the A.D. Barnes Park is exactly where you need to be.  This 65-acres oasis is located in one of the busiest areas in the Miami Dade County in Florida. It provides recreation and fun activities for residents and tourists seeking more natural attractions and a place to relax.

This park was founded in 1977 and provides a variety of activities. There is a pool which is open daily and only costs a small fee to enjoy. A leisure camp is also available for those with disabilities which is reserved for groups and organizations. Swim classes are offered and if special accomodations are needed, please call 305-755-7848.  A.D. Barnes offers something for everyone. In addition to the pool, there are basketball courts, picnic shelters, fitness zones, trails, and playgrounds.

When visiting the A.D. Barnes Park, be sure to also check out the Sense of Wonder Nature Center where you can access 15 acres of wildlife and plants and a fishing lake. See the bird and wild critter sanctuary or even decide to go camping nearby.  Tour guides can also accompany you on various numbers of eco-adventure tours.

Inquisitive minds will be excited by the many outreach programs dedicated to nature study offered at the park. These are designed for all age groups. The A.D. Barnes Park also boasts an amazing reptile collection and has been voted one of the best bird watching sites by the Audobon Society. The low cost of events and nature programs (that are often offered for free) makes A.D. Barnes accessible to so many. Other amenities includes a life guard on duty, showers, locker rooms and a baby pool.

Please Note:  Spring and Summer Camps are offered and the pool remains open for public use.
