Located in Fort Lauderdale, Franklin Park is a community park that offers numerous programs and facilities to help residents and visitors. The 6,000 square foot community center offers after school and summer programs, it focuses on providing fun and educational opportunities to all ages.

The community center features a kitchen, offices, restrooms, storage facilities, activity rooms, and an updated fitness center. The fitness center has a very affordable annual pass, and is open six days a week. The community center also features a computer room, allowing visitors of all ages access to the internet and select programs to improve computer skills, check email, and pursue other educational opportunities.

The park has two picnic shelters, which can be reserved in advance.

Franklin Park boasts two covered and lighted full basketball courts, playground equipment, a free after school program for children 6-17 years of age, and a free summer recreation program. They also host youth sports development programs and senior programs focusing on healthy living and nutrition. Another program for seniors is the Walk With Ease Program, designed to help seniors get and stay in shape using the walking trail in the park. Another program for seniors is the Walk Franklin Park – Fort Lauder dale, Florida. 

The park houses the Public Art and Design project The Word Garden, by Angela Curreri and Rick Yasko. The project includes a colored walkway around the playground, seven colored benches with the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa in English and Swahili and seven inspirational quotes related to the seven principles.  The artists worked with the community for five years while they designed and executed the project and focused on making it both educational and inspirational.

The park is open six days a week: Monday to Friday, 8AM to 1:30PM, and Saturday from 8AM to 2PM.
