Ocean Inlet Park

Body

The Boynton Inlet is a surf side paradise of sun and sand. A long time spot for fishing and family play. The Boynton Inlet has a 600 ft beach, jetties for fishing, marina, a playground for the kids, a short walking path and a pavilion for the picnickers.

If you visit the inlet in the later part of the year, October, November, its a good chance you'll find fishermen pulling in lots of fish. This draw is great for the kids who like to get close to nature. If the fish aren't biting, walk over to the playground and let the kids burn off some steam.

Oceanfront Park

Body

This is a wonderful ceanfront park with showers, restrooms and a newly renovated playground (it's pretty awesome now...especially compared to the monstrosity that was there before). The beach is pretty well-maintained by the city and a non-profit volunteer organization also frequently does a clean up here (Sandsifters). There's a nice shaded bench area near the parking lot that overlooks the shore. Very pleasant. Only drawback is that you get charged to park there.

Mangrove Park

Body

Mangrove Park is located to the east of to St. Mark's Catholic Church and school (off Federal Highway north of Boynton Beach Blvd) in a mangrove hammock area adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterway. The park is connected by at least three tidal inlets along the western border. It is a great place to see a variety of animals, including birds, raccoons and manatees. In 1997, the aluminum boardwalk, six interpretative panels, lighted restrooms, lighted parking lot, gates and landscaping were installed.

Pence Park

Body

Pence Park in Boynton Beach was named after a developer who was the former owner of the land.  Pence park is a neighborhood park popular with the locals for basketball. Former baseball/softball fields were converted into a multipurpose field so that locals could play soccer. All the fields are lighted until 10pm and other areas of the park close at sunset.

Jaycee Park

Body

Jaycee Park in east Boynton Beach is located right on the Intracoastal waterway. The playground is completely FENCED (has gates so no escapes) with an area for crawlers as well as bigger kids to play. Swings and climbing structure are in the center of the play area. The paved sidewalk around the large field is ideal for bringing out the tricycle. Brand new boardwalk overlook onto the intracoastal and picnic pavilions are features of this park. Bathrooms are on site.

Kid's Kingdom

Body

Kids Kingdom is a great large playground in Boynton Beach that is between the Children's Schoolhouse Museum and the City Hall Complex. There is a smaller portion of the playground meant for smaller children and the much larger area is better suited to school age children. There are restrooms and a couple of picnic tables. The city also has a small outdoor amphitheater and field that around the holidays hosts different festivals (the large Christmas Tree is right there).

Palmetto Greens Linear Park

Body

This park was created mainly as a bicycle trail along a newly formed canal. It's a 1/3 mile bicycle trail with bathrooms and a playground. This could be a good place to start young bike riders that is not such a formidable distance and without worries about car traffic. It is just east of Wilson Park and Poinciana Elementary School. The main entrance with the playground is at the intersection of Railroad and 13th avenue. There are also some spots designated for fishing with the mono-filament disposal sites available at the park.
