Children's Rotary Park and Marathon's Dog Park is a popular destination for local Marathon families. The park is located at 7575 Overseas Highway (corner of the Overseas highway and 75th Street ocean side) across from the Florida Keys Marathon Airport. The playground fuels the imagination with its lookout towers, Captain Hook's Ship and Thomas the Train play sets. Kids can scurry throw tunnels, fly high on the swing set or just run about. There is a separate area only for younger children as well. The wooden colorful equipment keeps it fun yet earthy. The local Marathon Rotary Club rallied local support and with volunteers was able to see this project built. Bring a meal to enjoy at the picnic tables located around the park. Restrooms are nearby. The large picnic pavilion may be able to be reserved for your next special event.
In 2009, the 3 acre Rotary Park welcomed the Marathon Dog Park after another successful effort by a local group of dog lovers. This area is adjacent to the Children's Park between 75th and 76th streets. Dogs are allowed to have supervised off-leash play within designated areas based on size (large and small).
The park is open daily from about dawn to dusk.
