Fruit & Spice Park

Body

The Fruit and Spice Park is a botanical garden in Redland, an agricultural community in Miami-Dade County. The main attraction here are the numerous varieties of tropical fruits grown right on site.  Enjoy learning about the 150 kinds of mangoes, 75 types of bananas, and over 40 types of grapes as well as a plethora of less familiar fruits (like Mangosteen and Dragon Fruit). The park primarily consists of varieties of fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs, and nuts.

The Fruit and Spice Park provides leisure for persons wanting to enjoy the scenery and get away from the busy city life. The open land stretches to 37 acres with more than enough space to partake in picnics, leisurely strolls, nature walks and opportunities to learn about nature in the botanical garden; all the while tasting the different variety of fruits available. The park allows people to pick fruits that have fallen from the trees and eat them for free. They are however advised not to pick them from the trees.  If you don't feel like worrying about packing a picnic lunch, the Mango Cafe will be happy to serve up some yummy treats.

The garden also provides amenities such as an events location as it is known to host festivals for adults as well as for children. Children activities such as petting zoos, magic shows, pony rides and such are some of the examples of the featured event activities occaisionally offered by the Fruit and Spice Park that the whole family can get to enjoy.

The Fruit and Spice Park has a comprehensive shop that contains a number of items such as a library of gardening books, spices, local honey, jams and jellies from the park which you can buy and take home.

The park is good for the family as you get to have activities that the whole family can do. It is also a learning experience for adults and children alike and you get to connect with nature and unwind, tasting fruits that will nourish your body.

The park is open 7 days a week from 9:00 AM- 5:00 PM , except on Christmas.
