Lake Worth City Hall Annex Cultural Plaza

Downtown Lake Worth, a coastal city of 37000 residents and 7 square miles, is an ideal venue for creative community events. Located in Palm Beach County, Florida, this elegantly-detailed city features great beaches, a new fishing pier, and a historical museum, together with a revitalized downtown with an eclectic mix of antique stores, restaurants, art galleries, music venues and special events.

The Lake and Lucerne Avenue is considered as the artistic soul of Lake Worth featuring Lake Worth City Hall Annex Cultural Plaza which includes an outdoor stage and lawn area for hosting many events. Main highlight of this cultural plaza is an event known as Lake Worth Street Painting Festival that you would not want to miss. As one of the largest chalk art festival with both street performers and main stage musical live show, watching the process of how the artists get down with pastels transforming the streets into colorful masterpieces would make for a unique South Florida experience.

In downtown Lake Worth, festival is a key component that makes culture comes to life in flaming glory. At the first and third Friday evening of every month, this delightful little city is dominated by Evening on the Avenues, where both Lake and Lucerne Avenues are blocked to traffic with food set up around the antique Town Clock in the square in front of City Hall Annex. The city’s thriving cultural scene is continued by Finlandia Days, a multi-day celebration of Finnish culture and heritage occupied with music and activities like wood carving and wife carrying.

Nestled on the south side of the Lake Avenue, there is a cultural asset known as Lake Worth Playhouse which regularly schedules a wide variety of musical plays and the best indie film release of the day. Next to it is the Stonzek Theatre, which is an intimate, black box style theatre equipped with large screen and high-definition projection.

For antique lovers, remember to take a walk on Lake Avenue as there are lots of quirky shops offering antiques and exotic items. Head either to TooJay’s to enjoy New York-style deli or Kilwins for a wide selection of ice-cream. After enjoying the ambiance of the Lake Worth, remember to treat yourself to refreshment at the Bamboo Room that retains a quiet atmosphere for you to have drinks and enjoy life music, especially the blues.
