2016 Delray Fashion Week Highlights

For 2016, the Delray Fashion Week has really outdone itself!  This year's events have so far been polished entertaining affairs with live music, dancers, dramatic lighting and more.  If you've always wanted to be at the New York Fashion Week and just can't find the time or the money to attend, the Delray Fashion Week this year really gives that high fashion fun at an affordable price.  Delray is home to such amazing artistic talent and this event does a wonderful job at showcasing hair, jewelry, performing arts, and clothing design that is homegrown right here in this village by the sea.

The opening show on Saturday January 16th was the perfect kick off for the week with a mesmerizing flamenco performance, Spider Cherry music live, and amazing local models and fashions in the spotlight.  For this outdoor early evening event, there was a mix of both adults and children.  Ticket prices were affordable and it was definitely an entertaining atmosphere for both young and old.  Just like last year, after the show ended the kids and audience enjoyed strutting their stuff along the run way too.  A big hit with the little aspiring fashionistas and their mamas.

Monday's Great Gatsby themed fashion show was a more formal, adult, event indoors at the Delray Beach Mariott.  The setting was oppulent and the fashions were definitely less casual.  Seats for the event were affordable and include a cocktail with some apps.  The full open bar, live performances, local vendors and silent auction all helped accentuate the main designers on the stage.  The first half of the showcased local boutiques clothing lines while the second half highlighted local designers and their original pieces also for sale locally.
