Long Key Natural Area and Nature Center

Long ago, the area covered by the over 164 acres of the Long Key Natural Area was inhabited by an ancient tribe of Native Americans called the Tequesta.  It was later home to the Seminole Indians.  Operated by Broward County in the area of Davie, this nature center is home to a wonderful exhibit hall, interactive classroom, banquet hall, theater and trails.  Long Key is open from 9am to 5 pm daily.

Located in Davie, Florida Tree Tops Park is a natural park that was created in 1980. The park sits on a 243.3 acres piece of land that was originally earmarked to be a golf course before Broward County intervened. The park is the gateway to the Pine Island Ridge Natural Area. Pine Island Ridge Park is the highest natural elevation at 29 feet above sea level and is an archealogical site characterized by equestrian and nature trails. This former dairy farm is characterized by oak trees and walking trails.

Vista View Park

Vista View Park is a gorgeous park located in the Town of Davie in Broward County. This park has 272 acres of rolling hills and meadows. The park was created with nature in mind. Landscapers created three native habitats to the park: Dry prairie, mesic flatwoods, and hammock using plants native to the area. The hope is that more animals will make this park their natural habitat. This park is a popular location for outdoor enthusiasts and families who love to try different activities.

Plantation Heritage Park

Plantation Heritage Park is a large 88.5 acre park located in central Broward County. Guests to the park can enjoy hours of quality family time at the park's several amenities. Have you next event at the 2,000 square foot Fountain Room with air-conditioning and a capacity of 125 people overlooking the lake. Take a stroll along the beautiful nature trails to see tropical hardwood hammocks, coastal forest and pine flatwoods. Observe and learn about native Florida plants and flowering trees.

Fig Tree Park

Fig Tree Park is located in the town of Plantation. It is beautifully set on the edge of the canal, making for pleasant scenery. The large amount of green space provides many options for activities. For the athletes in your family, they will enjoy getting full use out of the basketball courts and baseball fields. For the more casual gamers there is plenty of open space to toss around a football, kick around a soccer ball, play some frisbee or even fly a kite. The play area is relatively new since it had to be rebuilt after Hurricane Wilma.
