Central Broward Regional Park was built in response to the need for more recreational opportunities in Central Broward.  This 110-acre facility was built to serve 7 central Broward cities:  Lauderhill, Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale Lakes, Oakland Park, Plantation, Sunrise, and Wilton Manors.

Central Broward Regional Park is home to an international quality cricket stadium called the Main Event.  Located on the corner of Sunrise and State Road 441, this central Broward park has been host to 2 International-level cricket games and a world cup qualifier game for the US Rugby team.  Although the stadium was originally built only for cricket, the Main Event Stadium is now a multi-sport stadium that can also host football and soccer.  There are multiple artificial turf practice fields including cricket, softball, and American football pitches.

If you are looking for some unstructured family fun, you can hit the playgrounds, nature trail or the Tropical Splash Water Park.  The water park is open seasonally, closing in the winter and reopening around March.  It consists of 2 really fun interactive playgrounds for both small kids and big kids.  The big kids water playground has a spiral slide, water guns, and a huge bucket that fills and dumps water.  Paddleboats are available for rent on the weekends at the nearby marina.  Tennis and basketball courts are lit and free to use.

The park has a per person entrance gate fee (children under 5 are free) and the Tropical Splash area charges each person either per session or per day.  A seasonal pass may be purchased called the "Find It All" Pass.  This pass can be bought for just this water park or ALL 4 Broward County water parks for the season.  Funbrellas may be rented for private events and birthday parties and entrance fees may be pre-purchased for your guests.
