Snyder Park is a 93 acres natural oasis in the midst of urban Fort Lauderdale just north of the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.  Enjoy nature trails, playgrounds, sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and picnic facilities. A large open field allows for pick up games, frisbee, playing catch, kite flying and more.  The two lakes in Snyder Park also offer the chance for fishing.  Nature trails will take you through the Tropical Hardwood Hammock ecosystem native to the area. Bring your Frisbee and enjoy the newly added Disc Golf course.  If you plan to host a party at Snyder, the 4 pavilions are of various sizes that can accomodate groups from 6 to 6,000 and may be reserved for a fee.  Weekdays parking is free.  Weekends the charge is $1 per hour or $5 a day.

Snyder park is a great place to go with your dog. They have both a dog park and a dog swimming area in the lake.  The dog park has two fenced areas with agility courses and is open daily from 7am to 7pm.  Swimming for the dogs (the beach at Snyder is closed to human swimming) is allowed onthe eastern side of the lake.  Swimming is allowed daily except for the first Tuesday and Wednesday of the month when the water is treated.  It is also closed on Christmas Day and January 1st.
