Vista View Park

Body

Vista View Park is a gorgeous park located in the Town of Davie in Broward County. This park has 272 acres of rolling hills and meadows. The park was created with nature in mind. Landscapers created three native habitats to the park: Dry prairie, mesic flatwoods, and hammock using plants native to the area. The hope is that more animals will make this park their natural habitat. This park is a popular location for outdoor enthusiasts and families who love to try different activities. If you come to this park on a weekend you will see horseback riders, cyclists, families picnicking and even paragliders!

So what is there to do at this massive park? There are so many things:

Eight Picnic Shelters - these covered shelters have electrical outlets, grills and picnic tables. They may be reserved in advance for picnics and parties. There are also many picnic areas located throughout the park. Small shelters accommodate 20 to 40; medium shelters accommodate 41 to 60; and large shelters accommodate 90. Other freestanding picnic areas without shelters are available free on a first-come, first-served basis.

Two Large Covered Playgrounds - there is enough shade to play on hot sunny days. The larger play area is a Universal Access playground which can be uses by anyone regarless of ability level.

Paved Pathways - for walking, running, inline skating or recreational cycling. Pets are welcome to come on the path if they are on a leash. These are great paths for family outings.

Fitness Trail - There is a half-mile loop trail which offers several fitness stations. These fitness stations offer various levels of strength and ability.

Horse Trail - There is a 2 mile horse trail that loops around the park and connects to horse trails that have been established in the town.

Airfield/Paragliding - Vista View Park is home to the ParaGator ParaGliding Club and the Vista View Flyers electric powered plane club.

Fishing - Fishing is permitted along the shoreline and from the fishing piers.  A Florida fishing license is required for ages 16 and up.

Primitive Group Camping - non profit groups can apply for a permit to take their group tent camping at the park.

There are many special events held throughout the year at this park like cycling and running events, outdoor concerts and festivals. In addition, outdoor enthusiasts have been attracted to the park for its athletic challenges. The hills and fitness trail have become a training ground for many sporting activities.
