Tradewinds Park is located on both the south and the north side of Sample Road in northern Broward county.  Tradewinds is one of the largest parks in the area at over 600 acres.  It is home to the popular Butterfly World attraction on the south side of the road with athletic fields, 18-hole disc golf course and pier fresh-water fishing.   The northern end of the park has a unique small scale steam railroad track to enjoy run by Tradewinds & Atlantic Railroad, Inc. The railway rides are only on certain weekends so be sure to call ahead before you visit.  If your child is into trains it is a must-do activity at the park.  You can also find stables, a small educational "farm", playground, museum and equestrian trails.  The north side stables offer pony rides and trail rides.

The park offers 10 rental picnic shelters and four small tents which may be reserved for a fee.  Picnic tables surround playgrounds on both the north and south side.  They may be used for parties on a first come first serve basis.

Tradewinds hosts a drive-thru light show and hayrides around December.  The event is run by a private vendor. For more information, see their website: www.holidaylightsdrivethru.com
