Shopping, racing and 4th of july fireworks are all rolled into one at the Gulfstream Park Freedom Fest July 2-4, 2016. See the scheduled events for the weekend below.

Come and enjoy all types if fried and grilled delectable local seafood including shrimp, hushpuppies, and crab cakes at the 6th Annual Redland's Fish Fry and Seafood Festival at the Fruit & Spice Park, Redlands, Florida. Enjoy incredible southern rock music and kid's activities.Seafood choices will range from Thai to Caribbean, and everything in between. Enjoy incredible music and there will be a multitude of children’s activities, including interactive zone with the Miami Marlins, pony rides, bungee jump, and kid’s fishing zone.

Don't miss the SCIENCE fun enveloped in Sci-fi entertainment at the Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale for a weekend of exploration.

Star Trek Voyage Weekend

Star Lab Planetarium - Engage in an exciting trip through time as we explore different cultures beliefs about the night sky and how stars can assist in navigation.

Join the Museum of Discovery and Science Museum in Fort Lauderdale for their Tarzan and the Jungle Weekend July 2 & 3, 2016 Noon to 4 p.m.

Exhibits and activities will include:

Jungle Agility Course - Think you can swing through the trees like Tarzan…test your skills with this agility course!

Safari Binoculars - Make your own set of binoculars to take on your jungle adventure.

It is the season of the Summer Games and Miami Children’s Museum (MCM) is getting ready to debut an exciting competition of its own.  It’s the return of the MiChiMu’s Summer Games exhibit!  Created entirely by MCM’s educational staff, the newest exhibit is an interactive wonderland of athletic competition and cultural diversity.

The Children’s Research Station presented by the Marshall E. Rinker, Sr. Foundation exercises science skills in children through an experiential lab. Geared at children ages up to 12, the junior veterinary lab accommodates up to 10 children at a time during daily half hour programs, taking participants from sea turtle rescue to release.

Castaway Island at T.Y. (Topeekeegee Yugnee) Park in Hollywood brings back Family Fun Night. These monthly events will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 17, with another scheduled for July 15 and another for August 19. The $7/person entry fee includes two hours of swim time and games for all ages, including relay races, pie-yourself-in-the-face, water musical chairs, and more.

The City of Fort Lauderdale would like to invite the public to their free ceremony honoring fallen soldiers on Memorial Day.  There will be live music from the American Legion Symphonic Band, a tolling ofthe boats, pipe and drum corps, a dove release, parade of colors and a wreath placement at the Memorial Park Cemetary on SW 4th Avenue.  The Keynote Speaker will be Veteran Sergeant First Class Jose A. NEgron Jr.

 National Kids to Parks Day at Venetian Pool in Coral Gables will take place Saturday, May 20th.
