Latin Music & Food Festival

Presented by Ford, the Latin Food & Music Festival is a celebration to kick-off the Hispanic Heritage month that will feature music, food, culture and family fun.

The South Florida Fair and Hispanic Chamber of Palm Beach County have joined together to produce this INDOOR festival, which promises to be the best of its kind in South Florida.

Fire Department Open House

Body

Bring the family out to learn about the life-saving work of your local Fire Department.  The City of Delray Beach Fire Department wants to showcase their skills and inform the public about the services they provide to the community.  Demonstrations by the Special Ops team of repelling, extractions and more will take place during this 3 hour event on October 8th.  Learn about crucial services provided to the community from the local Delray Beach Police, local community groups, and maybe take part in a CPR class!

Rally Day

First Presbyterian Church of Fort Lauderdale will kick off its fall season of programming with a free event featuring informational booths from the Church’s ministries and programs, and family-friendly activities including crafts, face painting, a balloon artist, petting zoo and cotton candy! Rally Day activities begin at 10:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. In addition, all are invited to attend special worship services including communion, choir performances, and complimentary refreshments. Worship services will be held at 8:30 a.m.

South Florida Seafood Festival

The South Florida Seafood Festival is a celebration of all things seafood and waterfront living, giving people their fill of the freshest, tastiest delicacies of the sea. Set in Miami’s historic Marine Stadium, this seafood festival provides you to able to experience a slice of Florida’s diverse culture. Teacher STEM Open House

The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium is partnering with the Palm Beach Zoo for an exciting professional development opportunity focused on STEM activities! This is a FREE event! 

Visit the largest aquarium from Miami to Orlando, take a behind the scenes tour of the state-of-the-art zoo animal hospital, participate in live science and animal demonstrations and build, tinker and explore activities in our Science Showcase area.

Back 2 School Weekend

Enjoy a final weekend of summer break at the Back 2 School Weekend at Flamingo Gardens. Enjoy free pony rides from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. both days, special animal encounters, bounce houses, activities and games. Visit a variety of informational and craft vendors while DJ Digital Anarchy spins popular tunes. Explore creativity with crafts to make and take, or challenge friends to contests and games. Best of all it is a HALF-PRICE WEEKEND!

Watts-Up Electricity

Head to Sweetwater’s IKEA Miami and discover the wonders behind electricity through a variety of “shocking” activities in our Watts-Up Electricity Demo! Experiments include a Van Der Graaf generator (be ready for your hair to stand on end!), and a Tesla coil that powers lights, LEDs, and other everyday objects. Shop. Eat. Learn.

Orange Bowl Family Fun & Fit Day

The Orange Bowl Family Fun & Fit Day presented by Sunshine Health will take place at Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex on Saturday, August 13, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More than 60 vendors will provide a variety of services and products including free health screenings, fitness classes, interactive demonstrations and essentials for children heading back to school.

Sensory Saturday at MCM

Great sensory experiences await you and your child at the Miami Children's Museum in this special event set aside for children with sensory processing disorders and their families. Lights and sounds will be dimmed to create a comfortable environment for your little ones to explore. Participate in sensory based activities, such as bubble painting, and watch a sensory-friendly stage performance. Meet community professionals, such as an occupational therapist and a speech pathologist. Pre-registration is required.
